Observe and document
Observe symmetry in the world around you, and make the most of Procreate's Drawing Assist mode to recreate some of nature's most amazing critters.
Students learn to sketch, ink and paint in bilateral symmetry using the symmetry guides, referring to their found reference imagery along the way. To take it further, introduce students to radial symmetry as they illustrate a graphic for the creatures they created.
Educational Value
- Students understand mathematical principals of bilateral and radial symmetry, and identify the different shapes that enable the creation of symmetrical designs.
